Chainlink Expands U.S. Government Partnerships with Eye on Blockchain Elections
Chainlink is broadening its collaborations with U.S. federal agencies under the TRUMP administration, aiming to migrate more government functions on-chain. Following its existing partnership with the Department of Commerce, the decentralized oracle network is now in talks with additional agencies, though timelines remain fluid.
Sergey Nazarov, Chainlink's co-founder, emphasized the unpredictability of bureaucratic processes but expressed Optimism about rapid progress. "We're moving ahead on data initiatives and cross-chain discussions," he noted. The company is also engaging with state governments, though specifics were withheld.
While chainlink currently focuses on feeding public economic data into crypto markets, its long-term vision includes blockchain-based election verification. Nazarov asserts the technology is ready, but political hurdles—not technical ones—stand in the way.
